When analytics is enabled, this site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymised usage data. The data collected includes:
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- Session duration
- Device type (desktop, tablet, mobile)
- Operating system and browser
- Country-level location (not city or street level)
- Referring website (how you arrived at this site)
No names, email addresses, or other personally identifiable information are collected.

Analytics data is collected solely to understand how the site is used and to improve the content and experience over time.

Google Analytics retains data for 14 months by default.

Analytics data is processed by Google LLC under their terms of service. See Google’s Privacy Policy for details on how Google handles this data.
Your choicesPermalink
You have three ways to control whether analytics data is collected:
- Decline at the prompt — On your first visit, a banner appears at the bottom of the page. Click Decline to opt out. Google Analytics will not load at all.
- Withdraw consent — If you previously accepted, use the Cookie settings button in the footer. This clears your stored choice and reloads the page so the banner reappears.
- Browser-level blocking — Browser extensions such as uBlock Origin or “I don’t care about cookies” will automatically suppress the banner and block the analytics request entirely.
Your choice is stored in your browser’s localStorage (not a cookie) under the key erikw.me-cookie-consent. No data is sent to any server as a result of storing this preference.
